Tree Planting and Trash Cleanup in Grayling Forest Management Unit (Crawford County)
Description
About the project: On Saturday, April 25, 2026, MUCC's On the Ground program will partner with the Michigan DNR, Ruffed Grouse Society, and National Wild Turkey Federation to plant trees within the Grayling Forest Management Unit. The event will take place from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees will gather to sign in at the Grayling DNR Field Office on Hartwick Pines Road, just west of I-75. Volunteers will be split into groups for a tree planting and cleanup of trash sites on public land.

What to bring: Bring your work gloves if you have them and your enthusiasm for improving wildlife habitats! Shovels, trash bags, and other necessary equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. This project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather, so please dress accordingly. Be prepared to work outside for the duration of the event. A volunteer lunch will be provided to all registered volunteers, and a volunteer appreciation gift will be given out. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to reduce waste, but plastic water bottles will be available throughout the day.
