About the project: Join MUCC's On the Ground program in partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation for a native shrub and tree planting event in the Manistee National Forest in Oceana County. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Lunch, gear, and volunteer gifts will be provided. This project aims to increase cover and forage for a variety of wildlife by planting long-lived tree species (specifically conifers) and mast-producing and fruit-bearing tree and shrub species.
Meeting location: Volunteers will meet at the Pines Point Equestrian parking area on 168th Ave, also known as the White River Nonmotorized Trailhead.

What to bring: Closed-toed boots and long pants are recommended. This project will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather so please dress accordingly. Any necessary equipment will be provided including work gloves. A volunteer lunch and appreciation gift will also be provided to all registered volunteers. Lunch will be served at 12 PM.
