Details
All youth will check in, go through an introduction and safety briefing, practice shooting with clay targets, go on their hunt, and end with lunch and learning how to clean their birds! Each youth will have the opportunity to harvest 3 to 4 birds, receive a MUCC swag bag, and lunch is provided for all chaperons and youth.
- We have 12 spots available for youth ages 17 and younger to participate in this event.
- All youth must have their Michigan Hunter Safety Certificate.
- Each youth must have one chaperone accompanying them for the whole day. Two chaperons maximum per youth may attend, but only ONE chaperon will be allowed in the field for the hunt portion.
- We will provide safety glasses, ear protection, ammunition, and clay targets. All participants have to bring their own firearms. A 20-gauge shotgun is recommended. We do have loaner firearms available if necessary. If you prefer a certain ammunition for your firearm, you may bring that as well.
- Registration spots are first come, first serve! CHAPERONS DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER. ONLY REGISTER YOUR YOUTH SHOOTER.
*Volunteer hunting guides and dogs will lead youth through the hunt. Inexperienced or experienced hunters are welcome, but all are expected to know the basics of upland bird hunting. We suggest taking youth to your local shooting range to practice shooting moving targets prior to this event.
Once all spots are filled, you will be contacted via email with more event details.
