Description

About the project: On Saturday, July 13, 2024, MUCC's On the Ground program will be partnering with Steelhead Manifesto, U.S. Forest Service and Michigan DNR for our annual Manistee River Clean-up. The event will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees will gather at the boat launch to sign-in then head out either on the water by boat or walk along the riverbanks to clean-up various locations of the river. The Manistee River is one of Michigan's Wild and Scenic Rivers and a very popular river for Michigan anglers, paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Meeting location/coordinates: Volunteers will meet at the High Bridge Boat Launch at 4311 N High Bridge Rd, Brethren, MI 49619

What to bring: MUCC will provide work gloves, trash grabbers and trash bags for volunteers to use as they cover large stretches of the river and remove garbage to improve the aquatic ecosystem of the Manistee River. A volunteer lunch and appreciation gift will be provided to all registered volunteers. Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM at the High Bridge Boat Launch.

Registration closes on July 12 at 12:00 PM. If you need to register after this date/time or have questions, please email MUCC Habitat Program and Partnerships Coordinator Sarah Scheitz at sscheitz@mucc.org.
