Oak Tree Planting at an Elk Viewing Area in the Atlanta Forest Management Unit

06/01/2024 10:00 AM - 02:00 PM ET

Description

About the project: Join MUCC's On the Ground, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Michigan DNR Wildlife Division to plant oak trees and put up signage at an elk viewing area within the Atlanta Forest Management Unit. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Oak trees provide a variety of benefits to numerous wildlife species including elk.

Meeting location: This project will take place at Elk Viewing Area #11 off of Black River Road in the Atlanta Forest Management Unit.

  • GPS Coordinates: TBA

What to bring: A volunteer lunch and appreciation gift will be provided to all registered volunteers. A refillable water bottle is recommended, but we will have plastic water bottles available for volunteers. We ask that you bring work gloves if you already have them as we have a limited supply of gloves available. All other necessary equipment will be provided.

Registration for the event will close on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 5 P.M. If you need to register after the close date, email sscheitz@mucc.org so the lunch order can be updated.
