Brush Pile Building in the Traverse City Forest Management Unit (Kalkaska County)

About the project: Join MUCC's On the Ground (OTG) program in partnership with Land Ethic, LLC as we construct brush piles in the Traverse City Forest Management Unit in Kalkaska County. Brush piles provide numerous benefits to a variety of wildlife. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 A.M. - 3 P.M

 

Meeting location: Meet at the CCC Bridge State Forest Campground parking area. We will carpool from the parking lot to the work site.

What to bring:  We will be moving large logs and branches so closed-toe boots, a long-sleeve shirt, and long pants are recommended.  Attendees are also encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, although bottled water will be provided throughout the day. These projects will take place rain or shine unless there is severe weather so please dress accordingly.
