Tree Planting in Kalkaska

10/16/2021 09:00 AM - 01:00 PM ET

Description

Join MUCC on Saturday, October 16, as we improve wildlife habitat by planting mature mast-producing trees on public land near Kalkaska. Volunteers are needed to help plant, cover, and fence 50 mature trees. These trees will benefit a variety of wildlife like ruffed grouse, wild turkey and white-tailed deer.

The meeting location for this event will be off Riverview Road at these coordinates, 44.60569, -85.03538. The event will begin at 9 AM. After registration and introductions, we will go out into the field to get the trees in the ground. All registered volunteers will receive free lunch and a volunteer appreciation gift.

Although the official time slot for this event runs from 9 AM to 1 PM, we may end earlier if all of the trees are planted before 1 PM. MUCC will provide all equipment for this event, although volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves.

Please note that registration for this event closes at 11 PM on Thursday, October 14th, 2021.

If you have any questions regarding this volunteer event please contact Joe Dewan at americorps@mucc.org
